The Bella Lucca Collection is an original designer collection of luxury dog coats, dog apparel and dog accessories, created to appeal to the fashion savvy customer who appreciates unique style and designer quality when shopping for their pets.
As a woman’s fashion designer for 25 years, Laurie Herbst’s personal taste in clothing could only be found on the fashion runways in Europe and New York. When it came time to dress her Havanese puppy, Lucca, she was unable to find the level of quality and style that she was looking for in any of the dog boutiques in the area. So, she pulled out her sewing machine, set up the cutting table, and The Bella Lucca Collection of dog apparel was born.
Since its debut in September of 2006, The Bella Lucca Collection has never strayed from Herbst’s initial vision of Great American Style. Using the same fabrics and styling details found in the finest men’s and women’s designer boutiques, each dog coat or dog harness is designed to satisfy a particular fashion trend, a key designer look, or is simply a stylish version of a wardrobe staple, and is assigned a name intended to evoke a personality, place or fashion trend. The Newport Windbreaker evokes the feeling of sailing on the open sea, and the Sundance Shearling takes you to the high style of the northwest winter resorts.
While original designer styling is what makes The Bella Lucca Collection unique, the overall durability of each item is of equal importance. Every style in the collection is custom-made to order, under the watchful eye of the designer, and built to last through repeated wear and laundering.
The Bella Lucca Collection releases two collections a year, the Warm Weather Collection and the Cold Weather Collection. In our Warm Weather Collection you’ll find designer dog raincoats, luxury dog carriers, small dog harnesses with matching dog leashes, dog t-shirts and coordinating disposal bag dispensers called The Clutch, made in matching fabrics. The Cold Weather collection includes cold weather coats designed to keep your dog warm and stylish, waterproof dog coats, winter dog coats, dog harnesses, dog bomber jackets, dog ski jackets, and dog carriers. Established in August of 2006, The Bella Lucca Collection has plans to expand the product mix to include bedding, dinnerware, leather goods and accessories. Sized to fit tiny dogs, small dogs and medium size dogs from 2-25 pounds, the collection offers XXS-XL in the dog harnesses and dog T-Shirts, and sizes 6-18 in the dog coats, dog dresses and dog raincoats.
